Tonight we have started a 6 night (5.5 nights for LBTI) block of observations. We opened promptly at sunset and aligned and focused on a bright star. AO lock was achieved by 6:45 pm, and we began taking data shortly after 7 pm. Unfortunately the winds were quite high, and our object was directly into the wind. By 9 pm the winds crossed the limit of 20 m/s, and we were forced to close.
We were able to verify that the static astigmatism from previous runs is no longer there. Also the realignment of the SPC and the DX side optics train in general caused no significant shift in our pointing.
It looks like the next several nights we will be waiting out a storm.

It was an eventful first night on the LBT. Network connections failed, hardware refused to turn on, all the typical problems of a new instrument.
