From Bill Hoffmann:
"This is an LBTI/LMIRCAM M-band (4.7 um) image obtained from stacking 3 images of 14.6 sec integration time each. The image box is 2 arcsec square. The pixels are 0.011 arcsec."
The image shows residual astigmatism, but is otherwise a nearly ideal PSF for the system. The fourth Airy ring should be dimmer due to the central obscuration. We have been arguing about the appropriate value for Strehl, but our current best estimate is 0.94.
This was made with a reconstructor of 200 modes, running at 950 Hz. As we are able to fix the aberrations, and use the Arcetri setup of calibrating up to 400-500 modes, the correction should only improve.
