We are on day two of the current LBTI observing block, and so far have had only an hour or two of very cloudy skies where we had the telescope open to the sky. During this time we imaged the pupil of the instrument with LMIRCam to test alignment. The image below shows the result. The right side is the DX telescope, the left SX.
These pupils are both too low with respect to LMIRCAM's pupil (the large round circle). They are also not the right spacing or the same height. None of this is unexpected, but shows the starting point of our alignment, Based on this, we used Saturday afternoon adjusting the tilt of NIC, the science instrument, to center it, and then adjusting the beamcombiner to set the relative locations of each telescope pupil. We are now waiting for clear skies to take an aligned image similar to the one above.
